YH Successfully Launches China-Vietnam Cross-Border Multimodal Transport ProjectIssuing time:2022-07-18 15:40 On June 12, a rail container train loaded with Nike goods successfully arrived at Shanghai Station, marking a crucial milestone in YH's multimodal transport solution for Nike between China and Vietnam. The China-Vietnam railway, a vital cross-border land transport resource, played a significant role during the pandemic. The successful trial run has laid the foundation for YH's cross-border multimodal transport project between China and Vietnam.
The entire cross-border land transport route spans 4,440 kilometers. Departing from Nike's Ho Chi Minh City factory CFS on June 1, the rail shipment originated from Vietnam's Tran Bang Station and arrived at Shanghai Station on June 12. Previously, Nike primarily relied on road and sea transport. Road transport faced unstable customs clearance at border crossings due to the pandemic, resulting in significant increases in costs and lead times. Sea freight, susceptible to weather and port conditions, typically took over 15 days. This multimodal transport successfully completed the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai in just 13 days. With further optimization, the transit time is projected to be reduced to 10 days, significantly enhancing customer delivery experience and operational efficiency.
Historically, road and sea transport have accounted for over 90% of China-Vietnam trade shipments.
